The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Nairobi has warmly welcomed a new
cohort of first-year students joining the University for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The new students are beginning their university journey at a time when agriculture is
increasingly central to addressing food security, climate change, sustainable livelihoods
and economic development. Their arrival marks the beginning of an exciting period of
academic discovery, professional growth and personal development.
The University of Nairobi’s orientation programme is designed to help new students
settle into university life, understand institutional policies and procedures, meet
University officials, and become familiar with the facilities and services available to
them.
For students joining the Faculty of Agriculture, registration for programmes including
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Food Science and Technology, Food Nutrition and
Dietetics, Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Education and Extension, and Land
Resource Management and Dryland Sustainability as well as Crop Science and
Protection.
The Faculty looks forward to guiding the students through an enriching academic
experience that combines classroom learning with practical training, research,
innovation and engagement with real-world agricultural challenges.
As they settle into their new environment, the first years are encouraged to take
advantage of the many opportunities available within the University and the Faculty.
These include academic mentorship, practical learning, research activities, student
associations, innovation initiatives and opportunities to engage with the agricultural
sector.
The Faculty of Agriculture is committed to nurturing graduates who can contribute
meaningfully to Kenya’s food and nutrition security, sustainable agricultural
transformation and broader socio-economic development.
