1. Development of new bean seed varieties as a contribution to efforts towards food security
  2. Establishment of SEMIs as a strategic initiative to combat food security challenges, not just in Kenya, but in the rest of Sub-Sahara Africa 
  3. The Faculty has planted – and continues to plant – tree seedlings in their thousands as part of its contribution to environmental sustainability
  4. Recognition of members of staff for achievements in their respective areas of specialization 
  5. Human resource capacity building, eg through training of graduates in specialized fields of agriculture.
