Prof. Geoffrey Kironchi and Sicily Muchira all of University of Nairobi (UoN) and Mr. Kenneth Tembe and Mr. Godfry Anyika (IGAD Sheikh Technical Veterinary School (ISTVS) in Somaliland team conducted training for Extension and Field Staff on Agronomy and Agroforestry at ISTVS in Somaliland. It is supported by World Vision through the DFAT funded Australian NGO cooperation Program (ANCP) project. The trainings comprised of Good Agricultural Practices for sustainable dryland farming. Other topics included; agroforestry, apiculture and land and water management. The staff were also trained on seed bulking and multiplication, seed processing and conservation, tree propagation technologies (grafting technologies). The training aimed at increasing the capacity of extension staff in Somaliland for enhanced technology transfer to support farmers for increased land productivity.
