Training on Access to Information Resources and Open Journal System

The Department of Library & Information Services has scheduled online training on Access to Information Resources scheduled on 23rd February, 2022 and Publishing of Institutional Journals Using Open Journal System (OJS) scheduled on  25th February, 2022 at 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Access to Information Resources training aims to enhance utilization of library information resources. The main objective will be to guide the students and researchers on how to access the subscribed electronic books, journals, core textbooks and open access resources on campus and remotely, and on how to use the Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to identify relevant print information resources. In addition, demonstrate some of the rich open access resources that may supplement the subscribed information resources leading to improved access to relevant research information resources.

Open Journal System training aims to encourage Scholars to publish their articles in institutional journals to increase visibility and impact of local scholarly research output thus improving university ranking and collaboration. At the end of the training, participants will gain knowledge on how to create and configure a new journal, understand the manuscript tracking system and editorial steps, create a journal issue, establish the submission process, and have an overview of how to manage OJS publishing for their local journals.
