The theme for this year's Nairobi Innovation Week will be “Innovation for Transformation and Impact in the Society.” We invite you to hack with us by creating solutions that would impact and transform our society. In the words of President Barack Obama, Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change we seek.” As innovators and tech savvy generation, we have a chance to create something that would live our society better than we found it.
The University of Nairobi is known for its innovation credentials. About the Nairobi Innovation Week (NIW)
- The Nairobi Innovation Week (NIW) started in 2015, and is an annual event celebrating local and international innovations while enhancing key aspects of the innovation ecosystem.
- The mission of the NIW is to contribute towards a vibrant, productive and sustainable innovation ecosystem through policy influence, showcasing innovation, research dissemination, networking, capacity building, investment, and support opportunities.
- The hackathon will be one of the main events of the NIW and will happen between 26th and 28th of April 2022.
- This year’s hackathon is sponsored and run in partnership with Safaricom PLC.
