Visionary science stems from African-led research
The University of Nairobi in partnership with the University of Hohenheim (Germany), Egerton University (Kenya) and the African Technology Policy Studies Network (ATPS), Kenya is participating in a project titled “Strengthening Urban Resilience in Food and Nutrition Security in Kenya” (SURE-FOOD)” sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), funding period: 1 June 2021 – 31 May 2024 (AfResi-Call).
The UoN Office of the Dean of Students and Career Services in partnership with the Institute of Creative and Innovative Ideas (CNI Ideas) wishes to invite all students to participate in an innovation challenge dubbed ‘CNI-UON Innovation challenge’.
The purpose of the challenge is to discover, encourage and promote creative and innovative ideas among the student population through funding, mentorship, internship opportunities and partnership linkages among others.
The University of Western Australia (UWA), School of Agriculture & Environment in collaboration with The University of Nairobi (UoN), Department of Agricultural Economics with support from The Australia Africa University Networks and Africa Research Engagement Centre, organized Master Class in Productivity and Efficiency Analysis in Agriculture. The course was offered between 2nd August and 27th August, 2021 through online weekly sessions. It was facilitated by Amin W. Mugera, Associate Professor UWA School of Agriculture and Environment (SAgE) and hosted by Prof.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama and the Managing Director, Elgon Kenya Limited, Dr. Bimal Kantaria, toured Kabete Campus on 14th October, 2021 to identify the site for the establishment of the proposed Resource and Innovation Centre. Prof. Kiama and Dr. Bimal Kantaria were accompanied by members of the project committee drawn from various departments in the University, led by Prof. Margaret Hutchinson, the Associate Vice Chancellor Research Innovation and Enterprise.
