The University of Nairobi wishes to inform all students who qualified for the award of various degrees and diplomas at the end of last academic year (2020/2021) and members of the public, that the 65th Graduation Ceremony will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, September 24, 2021 commencing at 8.00 a.m. at the Great Court. The University Annual Sports Day was on Friday 18th June 2021 University Sports Ground. The theme of this year’s annual Sports Day “Staying safe and healthy through Sports.”
The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences held a recognition ceremony on Thursday June 17th 2021 to celebrate and award outstanding achievers. The event is part of a series of activities the College has implemented to celebrate the University of Nairobi’s 50th anniversary (#UoNat50 campaign)
The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS) joined the international community in observing the World Environment Day that is marked globally every year on June 5th. To mark the day, CAVS, in liaison with like-minded stakeholders planted 200 tree seedlings at the College Dam, off Lower Kabete Road.
As we celebrate 50 years of excellence, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences and the University of Nairobi at large in partnership with the Equity Group Foundation and Kenya Forest Service held a tree planting activity at Wangari Maathai Institute for Peace and Environmental Studies and Kanyariri Vet farm on 18th May, 2021.
Monday 17th May 2021, a blended ceremony was held to officially launch the Feed the Future Animal Health Innovation Lab program. A physical event was Held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nairobi and virtually for participants based in the USA and Kenya. The Innovation lab will be based at the Department of Clinical Studies, College of Agriculture, and Veterinary Services-University of Nairobi.
As part of UON@50 celebrations, The College held a webinar titled, ‘Pan-African COVID-19 and Food Safety Webinar’ on April 28, 2021. The University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor, Prof SG Kiama who was the chief guest challenged participants to discuss the issue at hand with openness as well as contextualizing food safety based on the African countries set up.
