A research team from the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM), Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam visited the Department of Land Resource Management and Agricultural Technology & Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Nairobi on February 7, 2022. The team comprising Associate Prof. Anne Van Loon and her PhD students; Rhoda Odongo, Ileen Streefkerk, and Tim Busker was received by Dr. Oliver Wasonga (lead researcher for Down2Earth at UoN).
The Dean Faculty of Agriculture (FoA), Prof. Moses Nyangito and the Chairman department of LARMAT Prof. Richard Onwonga on 2nd February,2022 awarded, Ms Manirakiza Isidonie and Mr Felix Nimbona certificates of participation after successful completion of fellowship training at the FoA, University of Nairobi.

This institution is always looking for new ways to create a healthy, supportive, and motivating work experience for our lecturers. Along with these intentions, this university has decided to participate in a global study for UNESCO, that aims to identify what factors of the work experience are key to protect the motivation of lecturers and prevent excessive fatigue at work.

As we celebrate Christmas, remember to plant a tree. Here at the Department of LARMAT, we have assorted tree seedlings of various indigenous tree species for sale at various prices ranging from Ksh. 50 – Ksh. 120 per seedling from Monday, December 20, 2021.
Visiting lecturer Prof. Gor C.O from Jaramogi oginga odinga University held a talk for first years from the department of Agricultural Economics. Prof Gor presented on Agripreneurship.
