Visit by the President of Hainan University, China

The start of a new partnership between UoN with Hainan University under the framework of the League of Tropical Universities (LTU) especially in Tropical Agriculture following the recent 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held on September 4 to 6 in Beijing which marked a pivotal moment for advancing partnerships between China and Africa.

Deans address to first years

Prof. Moses Nyangito, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, welcomed first-year students at the 844 auditorium. Together with him was the Prof. Catherine Kunyanga, the associate dean and chairmen of departments.
Prof. Nyangito began his speech by extending a warm welcome to the incoming students, acknowledging the excitement and challenges that come with starting university life. With a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to academic excellence, he shared insights drawn from his own career and observations in the field of agriculture.

First year admission

The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Nairobi has officially welcomed a new cohort of first-year students, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey for the latest batch of aspiring agriculturists. The admission of these students signifies a fresh influx of talent and enthusiasm into one of the institution's cornerstone faculties.

The Great Milllet Quest Awards.

The University of Nairobi in collaboration with Unilever and Farm to Market Alliance held the grand finale of the Great Millet Conquest at the Radisson Blue Hotel on Friday, 21st June 2024. The awards were a culmination of months of hard work by students who had been tasked to come up with innovative products from Millet. 

Elimu Tree Planting Day

The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the University of Nairobi organised the Elimu Tree Planting Day on Friday 24th May 2024.  The event, held in collaboration with the State Department for Higher Education and Research, marks a turning point in Kenya's fight against deforestation and climate change.
