Yesterday, 19th May 2025, the Faculty of Agriculture was honored to host an important delegation of change-makers from the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU).
Mark your calendars for the 5th All Africa Postharvest Congress & Exhibition (5th AAPHCE), a hybrid event which is scheduled for 16th to 19th September 2025 at the African Union Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
On March 17, 2025, Ms. Charlene Ruto, Director of the SMACHS Foundation and daughter of President William Ruto, visited the University of Nairobi's Upper Kabete Campus On March 17, 2025. Her visit was aimed at exploring potential collaborations between the Foundation and the University's Faculty of Agriculture. The visit aimed to identify opportunities for youth engagement in post-harvest management, food processing, value addition, and agricultural technologies.
The University of Nairobi Students Association (UNSA) elections will take place on March 26, 2025. This event will see students elect new leaders to represent their interests and steer the association for the upcoming academic year.
The elections are a cornerstone of student governance at the university, providing an opportunity for students to actively participate in shaping campus policies and initiatives. Key positions up for grabs include the UNSA President, Vice President, Secretary General, Treasurer, and various school representatives.
The Brazilian Embassy in Kenya, in collaboration with the University of Nairobi’s Faculty of Agriculture, organized an insightful seminar focusing on agricultural technologies and technology transfer on 28th Feb 2025. The event, held at the university’s Faculty of Agriculture, highlighted innovative solutions to address water scarcity in arid regions, with a particular emphasis on rainwater harvesting techniques.
The 2nd Professorial Inaugural Lecture of the Faculty of Agriculture
The Council visited the Faculty of Agriculture to gain an in-depth understanding of its academic processes, research initiatives, and supporting infrastructure. During the visit, they explored the faculty’s academic programs, and overall quality assurance mechanisms. They also visited the faculty’s Pilot plant , highlighting the areas of innovation and collaboration with industry.
