across the world and especially in the fragile environments in the tropics. Individual and
collective effort is urgently needed to mitigate the effects of climate change. Tree
planting and restoration of forest ecosystems has been adopted as one of the strategies
of mitigating the effects of climate change. As a premier institution of higher learning,
A team from the University of Idaho, United States of America, led by Prof. Dakota Roberson, working with a group of American innovators on agricultural and energy development projects in East Equitoria and South Sudan, visited the faculty of agriculture to learn more about agricultural programs and current projects in the faculty. They were keen to establish future collaborations after visiting the region in March. They have established a strong network of supporters to facilitate ongoing construction and training at the farm.
The deadline for submission of papers for the Nairobi Innovation Week has been extended to 19th March 2024.
The goal of the Hackathon is to prepare students to be job creators instead of job seekers. The top three winning ideas from each of the Faculties Hackathons will get a chance to participate in the final Nairobi Innovation Week competition in 2024.

The ‘Great Millet Quest’ a collaborative initiative between UoN, Unilever and Farm to Market Alliance, World Food Programme. UoN young student innovators will be developing millet products for the market. Strengthening Academia-industry linkage is a key strategy to addressing food and nutrition security and ensure sustainable agriculture
The University of Nairobi, Unilever and Farm to Market Alliance launched the ‘Great Millet Quest’ on Friday 26th January at Upper Kabete Campus. The competition seeks to bring out innovative and sustainable products from millet. The best competition targets students from the Faculty and the winner will walk away with 500,000 Shillings.
Feed the future innovation lab for food safety by USAID - presenting on poultry value chain. Women and youth pay a vital role in the poultry value chain - interventions targeting reduction of Salmonella and Campylobacter pathogens should actively engage them and consider roles of gender in this value chains.
